‘2nd Chance Cafe’

The main artery of our project. Open Thursday and Friday lunchtimes.  Sit down for a heart warming bowl of home-made soup, made by local volunteers who are giving a 2nd chance to fruit and veg!  Every week we collect unwanted or surplus veg from local food outlets and make soups and smoothies for your pleasure. We supplement these with generous veg donations from our partner Growing Communities.

The café’s run by an enthusiastic group of local volunteers and delivered on a ‘pay-as-you-feel’ basis.  Come and join us and meet new friends - either volunteering or relaxing over a bowl of soup and a game of chess. 

‘Food 4 Thought’

Here in Stokey how come chic cafés sit alongside increased queues for a foodbank?  What impact does food poverty have on health and well-being? In the aftermath of Covid-19 will we be able to sustain the web of connections that have sprung up to create a deeper culture of caring and sharing, especially when it comes to food? 

‘Food 4 Thought’ invites you to dinner and gives you a chance to debate these and other food related issues over a relaxed supper. These will be ticketed events and all profit raised will go to support this social enterprise in delivering its mission.  Watch this space and send us your ideas.

A safe and creative environment for your pre-schooler to play whilst you relax with friends over a cup of coffee.  Friday mornings 9.30-11.30am.  Watch this space for an update.
